D. P. Singh: SIPs are done in mutual fund schemes. Ulips are for very long term and are managed by insurance companies. thiese are mixture of insurance and investments. SIPs are always a better option

D. P. Singh: you need to allocate at least 20% of your savings in some large cap fund, if you have a period of 3 to 5 years. please start some SIP in a multicap fund.

D. P. Singh: Not really as with opening of these sectors in the recent reforms, may not gurantee a higher dividend yield in future. Moreover now dividends are alsop taxable.

D. P. Singh: Uncertain times are always good to put some portion of surplus funds into equities. remaining, say 75% may be parked in a money market fund with STP to an equity fund over the period of one year.

D. P. Singh: If it is the first investment,than index fund is better but you already have some in vestments in a large cap oriented fund, than you may go for Midcap.

D. P. Singh: yes, that is a very good strategy.

D. P. Singh: within ABSL you can do that but if you have to go to another fund, you will have to redeme and reinvest.

D. P. Singh: 8-10% in tosay"s scenario seems to be little impractial , but you can not predict the scenario 5n yr from now. one must expect6-7% in today scenario.

guest: Hi sir I want to create an emergency fund over a period of 1-2 year, where should i park my surplus funds to get a return of about 8-10 % pa and retain liquidity also. I already have done the investment part through SIP\`s. I have zeroed in reliance gilt securities fund for this, is it a good fit ? i am 28, and have an aggressive risk appetite.

D. P. Singh: A medium term debt fund or a short term debt fund will be a better choice.

D. P. Singh: No mutual fund investment can gurantee any return. However, c two or three good schemes are enough. Large cap, Multicap and one performing small cap fund shoild be there.

After 11 yrs it has accumulated to about Rs.3.40 lakhs. Now I want to exit the scheme. How much approximate tax will I have to pay on it if I am in 5 percent tax bracket........?2. Will it be safe to invest the above Redemption amount in SBI Short Term debt fund or SBI Banking and PSU Debt fund for about 3 yrs. time horizon keeping in view the present scenario.Regards
