Equity Mutual funds end strong as Benchmarks rallied by more than 2.5% in yesterday's trading session. All funds in Equity and Balanced category were seen in green with no decline. The sectoral funds too followed the same suit no decline in any of its category.
The sharp rally in the global markets after the first positive day of European summit led the Indian market to gain. The BSE benchmark gained 439.22 points (biggest closing gains in the year 2012) or 2.59% to close at 17,429.98. Meanwhile, the NSE benchmark rose 129.75 points or 2.52% to 5,278.90.
The debt funds, on the other hand, continue to be under pressure. The debt long term and Gilt long term ends with the advance: decline ratio of 53: 22 and 7: 42 respectively. Meanwhile Short term category deliver decent performance with the ratio recorded for Debt Short Term- 69: 2, Gilt Short Term 9: 7, and Ultra Short Term Debt- 69: 1.
